DTAS 3D Geometry Data Import

Importing STP files. STP files contain geometric information as well as assembly relationships between parts. DTAS can interpret these assembly hierarchical relationships. This method can be used if tolerance simulation requires importing an assembly, as shown in Figures 1 and 2.

DTAS 3D Geometry Data Import

Supports single or batch import, and allows specifying the import location. Multiple imported IGS or STEP files are all classified as part files belonging to the same product, as shown in Figures 3 and 4.

DTAS 3D Geometry Data Import

To quickly convert other CAD data into IGS or STEP files in batches, the TranslateTool can be used for batch conversion, greatly improving efficiency, as shown in Figure 5.

DTAS 3D Geometry Data Import

Data encryption. Many companies use encrypted IGS or STEP files exported from other CATIA software for confidentiality purposes. DTAS will display error messages if it tries to read these directly. Contacting the relevant IT department to add DTAS to the encryption list will allow it to read IGS or STEP files correctly. Regarding directly reading data from CATIA, UG, etc., this technology is mature and only requires the relevant interface.
